Frequently Asked Questions

GPU net offers a wide range of benefits and rewards based on the type of node being operated. GPU Net currently houses three types of nodes (Validator Node, Provider Node, and Queen Node). All these nodes have a predefined function and are rewarded accordingly. Provider Node: These nodes provide computational power to the network and are rewarded daily based on the compute units they provide. Queen Node: Queen nodes are incentivized for their uptime as well as for verifying the availability and compute power provided by the provider nodes. Validator Nodes: These validator nodes are responsible for validating blocks, verifying, voting on, and maintaining a record of transactions that take place on the network. They also hold the responsibility of securing the GPUnet POC Layer 1 Blockchain (GAN Chain) by staking $GPU Tokens.

An estimate of around 5000 $GPU per node is projected based on several factors mentioned below. With around 533 $GPU airdropped per validator per node Key during the Token Generation Event (TGE) and approximately 30 million $GPU emitted within the initial two years, an estimate of around 5000 $GPU per node is projected. Note: The expected return on investment (ROI) for GPU node operators is subject to fluctuation based on the token price at the time calculation and the cost of acquiring the node.

All the validator node operators receive rewards through Token Bound Accounts (TBAs) that are linked to their license Key NFTs. All the rewards earned by these validators automatically accumulate in their respective TBAs and undergo a 90-day lock-in period before the validator is given permission to withdraw their rewards ($GPU Tokens) into their external owned accounts (EOAs). However, if an operator decides to exit, they are given an opportunity to sell their node Key NFT and associated Token bound accounts (TBA) including the accrued rewards on the marketplace.

The basic criteria required to become a node operator on the GPU Network includes the following: Processor: x64, Arm RAM: 4GB CPU Cores: 2 Disk Space: 120 GB

GPUnet ensures the security and integrity of the network with node operators through queen and validator nodes. The Queen nodes play a crucial role in maintaining trustlessness by verifying all computations within the ecosystem, while validator nodes validate and record compute order proofs on-chain thereby strengthening the network integrity.

The terms and conditions for staking or delegating tokens for running a node vary based on the network. On the Testnet validators are required to stake 100 Gpoints and on the mainnet the validators are required to stake 1000 $GPU tokens.

Absolutely! We are continuously planning to implement upgrades and evolve our node infrastructure in the future. Since we have built the GAN chain using the substrate framework, most of the modular upgrades don't require any action from validators. This also ensures a smooth and efficient evolution of our platform.

GPUnet sets itself apart from other node offerings by implementing the following; A genuine First Come, First Served (FCFS) approach which ensures fairness and transparency. Value accrual directly on the node key. Instant liquidity for those looking to sell their node key. Network rewards. These four elements help GPUnet’s node offering stand out compared to others.

To mitigate risks associated with node operation GPU.Net has deployed Queen nodes that are incentivized for their uptime as well as for verifying the availability and compute power of other nodes. GPUnet further slashes the staked token of any particular node not maintaining their health score or for having a reduced/decreased health score. Additionally, GPUnet addresses security vulnerabilities by auditing all smart contracts and adhering to open-source licensed software.

Not at the moment. Our node sale hasn't commenced yet, it is scheduled for the 5th of April 2024. Once concluded, buyers will have the opportunity to operate validator nodes on our network and provide testimonials on their experience.
